Spacelog
Spacelog was a hack week at a fort in the Channel Islands with no internet! I wrote about the experience of working completely locally in my article ‘Extreme Design’. One of the participants brought PDFs of early NASA transcripts, and we decided to make them accessible, searchable, and linkable.
The mission we digitized on that trip was Apollo 13, and later we turned it into a community project so that volunteers could add missions. Spacelog is still maintained by the organizer of dev/fort, and to date, ten missions of early spaceflight transcripts have been digitized! I co-designed this project with Chris Govias, and did all the illustrations for Apollo 13.
Spacelog got some really nice press from major tech outlets.
